The SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) is a 14-year initiative funded with a total of 3,5 billion SEK from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation. The purpose of the program is to recruit and train the next-generation of data-driven life scientists and to create globally leading computational and data science capabilities in life science in Sweden.
The PhD Student Affiliate Program has now opened to further strengthen and expand the school. The program will allow talented PhD students outside the DDLS program, with up to one year of doctoral studies in data-driven life science, to join the DDLS Research School and access the same courses, activities, and community as DDLS-funded students. Successful applicants will be joining the Research School in spring 2027.
The DDLS program will focus on four strategic areas of data-driven research: cell and molecular biology, evolution and biodiversity, precision medicine and diagnostics, epidemiology and biology of infection.
